This Privacy Policy explains how PSHR Innovex Pvt Ltd collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use the BudMeet mobile app, the BudMeet website, and related support, moderation, and account services. By using BudMeet, you acknowledge the practices described here.
What this policy covers
- The BudMeet iOS and Android applications.
- The public website at budmeet.app and related web pages.
- Support, safety, verification, moderation, and account-deletion workflows.
- It does not cover third-party services that we do not own or control.
Information we collect
- Account and profile information: name, username, email, phone number if you provide one, date of birth, age derived from date of birth, profile photos, bio, interests, meetup preferences, and account settings.
- Discovery and location information: approximate or precise location when you allow it, distance-based discovery settings, and live-location preferences for meetup-related features.
- Communications and user content: direct messages, group messages, voice messages, voice-profile intros, call signaling data, call history, call feedback, group memberships, event or meetup participation, support requests, and abuse reports.
- Verification and trust-and-safety data: government-ID images, selfies, verification status, moderation notes, report evidence, block or restriction records, and related fraud-prevention information.
- Device, diagnostics, and technical data: device identifiers, operating system, app version, IP address, language, timezone, notification tokens, crash data, performance logs, and security events.
- Payments and advertising data: transaction metadata from app-store billing, and if a build of BudMeet enables advertising, advertising identifiers or limited ad-measurement events from approved partners. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Website data: cookies, local storage, and similar technologies used for site operation and, where enabled, analytics or marketing.
How we use information
- Provide account access, profile creation, discovery, chats, groups, calls, and meetup features.
- Match people, groups, and local experiences based on preferences, settings, and location.
- Deliver notifications, service updates, safety alerts, and support responses.
- Review verification submissions and investigate fraud, abuse, harassment, scams, and policy violations.
- Maintain security, debug issues, prevent misuse, and improve reliability and performance.
- Process purchases, comply with platform rules, and, if enabled, serve or measure advertising.
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect users, BudMeet, and the public.
Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract: to provide the BudMeet services you request.
- Consent: for permissions such as location, camera, microphone, photos, or certain marketing.
- Legitimate interests: for safety, fraud prevention, product improvement, and service administration.
- Legal obligation: when we must keep or disclose information under applicable law.
How we share information
- With other users: the parts of your profile, posts, groups, chats, voice intros, and meetup activity that you choose to make visible through the service.
- With service providers: infrastructure, storage, notifications, analytics, moderation, support, app-distribution, and payment partners that help us operate BudMeet.
- With platform and ecosystem providers: Apple, Google, Expo, APNs, FCM, and similar services when needed for app distribution, billing, notifications, fraud prevention, or device-level functionality.
- For safety and legal reasons: where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, comply with the law, enforce our Terms, or protect users, BudMeet, or others from harm.
- In a business transaction: if BudMeet is involved in a merger, financing, sale, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
Location, calls, and voice features
- Location access is optional, but some nearby-discovery and meetup features work better if you enable it.
- BudMeet is designed to use location while you actively use the app. We do not request background location by default.
- Live location is a user-controlled setting intended for meetup-related experiences and can be turned off in BudMeet or your device settings.
- If you record voice messages, publish a voice intro, or join voice/video calls, we process the media and related metadata needed to deliver that feature.
- We do not share the contents of direct messages with advertisers.
Verification and safety review
- Verification submissions may include sensitive identity documents and selfies.
- We store verification assets in protected storage, limit access to people and systems that need it, and use them to review authenticity, trust, fraud, and policy compliance.
- Reports, moderation notes, and enforcement records may be retained for safety, audit, legal, and abuse prevention purposes even after related content or accounts are removed.
Cookies and similar technologies
- We use cookies and local storage to keep the website working, remember preferences, and support security.
- Where enabled, we may also use analytics or marketing technologies to understand performance or campaigns.
- You can manage browser cookies in your browser settings, subject to essential site functionality.
How long we keep information
- We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate BudMeet and support your account.
- When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal information from active systems unless retention is legally required or justified for safety, fraud, audit, or dispute purposes.
- We may keep limited logs, deletion audit records, report records, or legal compliance records after account closure.
- We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.
Security
We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, protected storage for sensitive assets, and encryption in transit where appropriate. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
- Access, update, or correct profile information from within BudMeet where available.
- Delete your account in-app or use the public account-deletion page if you cannot access the app.
- Control device permissions for location, microphone, camera, notifications, and photos in OS settings.
- Opt out of marketing emails by using unsubscribe links or contacting support.
- Depending on your location, you may also have rights such as access, deletion, correction, restriction, portability, or objection. We will handle requests as required by applicable law.
International data transfers
BudMeet and our providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use contractual, technical, or organizational safeguards designed to protect transferred personal information.
Adults-only service
BudMeet is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use the service. If we learn that an underage person has created an account, we may remove the account and associated information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date and, if required, provide additional notice inside the app, on the website, or by email.
